Lewis Carroll

“His image as a man of suspect sexuality ‘says more about our society and its hang-ups than it does about Dodgson himself,’ Will Brooker says. We see him through the prism of contemporary culture—one that sexualizes youth, especially female youth, even as it is repulsed by pedophilia.”

This is *exactly* what I was trying to convey in my Birth posts. Exactly it. Painting everything with the same damn brush, and all the hypocrisy of that double standard. This article is from 2010, but is exactly on point. The first comment on the article below I also agree with 100%. The story I’m working on now explores this.
